Nintendo is bringing players together like never before with the launch of the Nintendo Switch 2, arriving June 5, 2025, in the U.S. for a suggested retail price of $449.99.
The next-generation system introduces redesigned Joy-Con 2 controllers that attach magnetically and can function as motion-capable pointing devices in supported games. With upgraded hardware and a larger high-definition display, the Switch 2 delivers vivid visuals and smoother performance—at home or on the go.

GameChat: Talk, Share, and Play — Together
A key new feature is GameChat, Nintendo’s built-in voice and video communication system. Players can connect in real time, whether in the same room or across the globe.

- Video chat for up to 4 users with a compatible USB-C camera (sold separately)
- Launch chats instantly using the new C Button on the right Joy-Con 2
GameChat will be free through March 2026, after which a Nintendo Switch Online membership will be required.
Parental access and approvals can be managed using the updated Nintendo Switch Parental Controls app, including safety tools for players under 16.
